2021 INITIATIVES
Due to the environmental and social pressures, PFBHA determined that it had become necessary to implement measures to ensure that use of the private beach was limited to Port Franks residents, in accordance with the 1977 deed of ownership. Through committee work, the following initiatives were achieved:
UPDATED SIGNAGE
Clear and concise signage was installed
No Trespassing
Dangerous Undertow
Ice Shelf Safety

INSTALLATION OF FENCING/GATES AT BEACH ENTRANCES
Black wrought iron style fencing and gates were installed at the Raeburn Rd/Mud Creek and Bond St beach access points.

SECURITY
Security was positioned at beach access points for the purpose of educating, redirecting to other local public beaches and deterring non-Port Franks residents from using the private beach.
Volunteers from the PFBHA were also on hand to support these efforts

BEACH STEWARDSHIP
The committee created a document to provide clarity for the policies and practices of the PFBHA with respect to the PFBHA owned beach.
The Beach Stewardship policy serves as a guideline to the PFBHA and Port Franks residents in accordance with the stewardship role adopted by the PFBHA, to preserve and restore the unique and fragile dune ecosystem native to our area.
The final result was a comprehensive live document containing a lot of important knowledge along with many excellent resources.

BYLAW REVISION
The committee worked hard and took great care to update and revise the PFBHA Bylaws which the association is governed by.
The amended Bylaws were voted in at the PFBHA General Meeting on August 28, 2021. The new PFBHA Bylaw No.1 came into effect in September 2021.
